The RESPECT Messaging Campaign is a National Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) Social Behavioural Change initiative which aims to address the pervasive scourge of GBVF in South Africa. Aligned with the National Strategic Plan for Gender-Based Violence and Femicide and the Sustainable Development Goals, the campaign embodies the spirit of Ubuntu, emphasizing the essential value of respect in fostering a safer society.
With a strategic focus on Awareness, Call to Action, Education, Capacity Building, and Advocacy, the campaign aims to catalyze a nationwide movement against GBVF. The comprehensive RESPECT Framework serves as the bedrock of this campaign, redefining cultural norms and fostering proactive prevention through collaborative partnerships.
Join us as we build a compelling case for change, empowering individuals from all walks of life to be active contributors in preventing GBVF. Through our tools and resources, we empower men, boys, and affected individuals to drive tangible change, demonstrating new, respectful behaviors that inspire society at large.
Together, let’s sustain this momentum for a safer, more equitable South Africa. Let’s cultivate a culture of respect and equality, paving the way for the eradication of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide in our nation.
Join us in our mission to create a safer, more respectful world for all. Together, we can make a difference.
Together, we can ensure that in a world with respect, there is no GBVF.
Only a collective effort can win the fight against GBVF. Men, women, children, institutions and sectors have a role in eradicating it.
GBVF can never happen if it never starts. Working together we can break the cycle before it happens.
A world where RESPECT is the
cornerstone of every relationship,
Is a world free of Gender-Based
Violence and Femicide (GBVF).
